PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS COMMUNITY IS STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION. BEAR WITH US WHILE WE GET OUR ACT TOGETHER.
new_arrivals is a place for women (and men!) to gather and talk about their new babies and post-partum issues. Becoming a mother is an amazing experience. Having a new baby is one of the happiest times in any woman's life -- but it can also be one of the most overwhelming and terrifying. We're here to help walk you through the first days, weeks, and months of mommyhood!
Everyone is welcome here, from the newly pregnant to the parents of teenagers. Seek or give advice, vent, post birth stories and pictures, share information, and make friends. Whether you're worried about the pros and cons of medication during childbirth, post-partum bleeding, your wee one's umbilical cord stump, normal infant growth, or post-partum depression, you're in the right place.
Join, participate, and spread the word!

Rules / Guidelines: 1) This community was created to be a safe place for new moms. Any member caught creating drama or taking posts from new_arrivals to a snark community will be banned immediately. If you have nothing nice to say, keep your mouth shut and move on. 2) Promoting your community is fine. All we ask is that you keep all promos related to babies, pregnancy, or parenting. 3) All posts containing multiple images or any image(s) larger than 400x400 should be put behind an LJ-cut. 4) For your own security, consider marking any entry containing pictures - or anything else you don't want stolen or snarked - friends-only. 5) While this community does take a "breast is best" stance on infant feeding, women who choose formula will NOT be belittled or insulted in any way, shape, or form. Feel free to educate and encourage, but do so respectfully. Take the debate to booju_mooju.
If you have any questions, concerns, or complaints, don't hesitate to contact the moderators.
Other Communities Of Interest: While every issue related to pregnancy, childbirth, parenting, and babies is welcome here, here are some more specific communities that you may find better advice at.
